Texas Baptist (BGCT) Mission Team
FBC Abilene has a historic relationship with the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) or, Texas Baptists. Texas Baptists encourages, facilitates, and connects churches in their work to fulfill God’s mission of reconciling the world to himself. The BGCT has supported and/or established numerous schools, including Hardin-Simmons University, and partners with Logsdon Seminary. The BGCT has assisted in the development of seven hospitals, four children’s homes, and five homes for the aged. The Convention also assists in starting hundreds of new churches each year as it strives to share the gospel with every person in the state of Texas.

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
FBC Abilene values an important relationship and strategic connection with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF). CBF is a body of Christians and churches engaging in God’s mission in the world. It’s a fellowship of Baptist Christians and churches who share a passion for the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and a commitment to Baptist principles of faith and practice. Their vision is to be the presence of Christ in the world and are driven by their mission to serve Christians and churches as they discover and fulfill their God-given mission. They celebrate their partnership with First Baptist Church.
