FBC Adult Ministry consists of single and married adults between the ages of 20 and 105. We offer a wide array of Bible study options on Sunday as well as other opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship.
On Sunday mornings you will find that you have several groups from which to choose. Would you like to be with a group of adults your age or would you like to gather with a group of parents who have children in the same age range as you? Would you like to meet with a community of questioners and teachers who challenge each other discuss scripture as a pattern for engaging the world around us? Would you like to study scripture from a historical viewpoint with teachers who love to teach biblical history? Would you like to study theological issues in a quest to further define what you believe and how you will live? Would you like to know and be known in a group of believers who are seeking to follow Christ? We would like to help you find your place.

Young Adults
Sunday Morning Bible Study Options:
20-Something
The 20-Something class is comprised of young adults in their 20’s and just starting out in a career or serving in the military. They meet on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. in Room 314 on the third floor. Mike & Ann Butler, and Sean Morgan lead this class.
Young Couples with Children
As the name of the class implies, this group is made up of young couples who are in the early years of parenting. They meet on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. in Room 312 on the third floor. They are led by Casey & Mindi Curnutt and Dave & Cassie Irwin.
Difference Makers
Difference Makers is primarily people in their 30s and 40s with kids. It’s a group whose purpose is not only to make a difference in their own lives, but also make a difference in the surrounding community. They meet on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. in Room 308 on the third floor. Whitney Holden helps give direction to the class and they rotate teachers.
Adults
Sunday Morning Bible Study Options:
GODSQUAD
This coed class meets in room 316 and is comprised of folks in their middle years of life. Led by Darrell Roy as the Director and Paul Irby as the teacher.
CELEBRATION
Folks generally in their 60’s gather in room 164 each week where Boyd & Lynn King serve as the directors and Mike Walston as the teacher.
SEEKERS
This coed class has members in their 50’s – 60’s and meet in room 313. David Brown and Mike Patrick share the teaching.
THE JOURNEY
Middle to upper aged adults gather on the north side of the Dining Room and Teresa Ellis serves as the director, while Bob Ellis and Ken Lyle share the teaching responsibilities.
REUNITED
A relatively new class is made up a fairly wide range of ages all coming together for community and studying of God’s Word. They meet in room 300 and Roy Longacre teaches the class.
TOP OF THE MESA
Adults in their 50’s – 70’s gather in room 306 each week to hear Jim Jones teach and the class is directed by Paul Schnitman.

This new coed class meets in room 303 and is taught by Kenton McDonald. Folks of all ages are encouraged to come and learn together.
Senior Adults
Senior Adults
Senior adults are a vital part of First Baptist Church. Not only have they served faithfully in the past, but they continue to do so in the present.
Senior Adult Sunday School options include:
FREEDOM
Taught by Bill Spencer and directed by Kathy Merchant, this class meets in the south end of the dining room.
Grateful Hearts
Designed as a class for those who need a fragrance-free environment, they meet in room 113 just off the welcome center. Linda Chisholm teaches this class.
Joy
This ladies’ class meets in the Parlor (room 111 in the welcome center) and is taught by Julia Griffin.
Primetime Coed
Dr. Larry McGraw teaches this class, and it is also Livestreamed on the churches streaming platform. They meet in room 112 just off the welcome center.
Priscilla
This ladies’ class meets in room 175 down by the chapel and is directed by Wanda Sumner. The teaching is shared by:
Susan Martin, Cathy Ingram, Pat Johnson, and Jan Crumpton.
Homebound Ministry
The First Baptist Church Homebound Ministry Team is a group of volunteers from our Church who minister to our members who are confined to their home, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes. Members of this special Ministry Team will make periodic personal visits, send prayer cards, telephone calls, and provide appropriate Christian Literature.
The main purpose of this group of volunteers is to provide consistent communication to these special members who no longer have the ability or opportunity to actively participate in Church activities.
FBC IN ACTION
First Baptist Church members offering a helping hand to Senior Adults in our Church. The main focus of this volunteer based group is to provide services such as general minor home repair, cleaning/yard work, and routine maintenance around the home. Members of this special Action Team consist of High School/Middle School Students, College Students, Young Adults, and Middle to Senior Adults in our Church.
