What is church membership?
Church membership is connecting with other individuals who have committed to God’s Kingdom work through a local congregation. Through church membership we acknowledge the Christian life is communal. We worship, learn, grow, give, and serve together as we seek to accomplish God’s will and work in the world. Church membership is a commitment to and investment in the missions and ministries of FBC through your participation, prayer, time, and finances.
There are several ways that one can join:
- You can choose to put your faith in Jesus and be baptized.
- If you are already a member of another Baptist church, we would request a transfer of membership from that church.
- If you are a member of a different denomination and have already experienced believer’s baptism, joining would be based on your statement of belief.
- If you have not experienced believer’s baptism, we would help you understand the meaning of believer’s baptism and would schedule a time for you to be baptized and join based on that decision.
- We also have people who are not ready to fully join the church because of personal reasons, but want to be connected to the fellowship of the church. We have an option called Watch Care which accomplishes this.
